Mocha Mousse
While deeper chocolate shades are best suited for fall and winter, Mocha Mousse is the brown hue to embrace moving into spring. Since debuting last month, it’s gained popularity among nail artists, but celebrity nail artist Elle Gerstein notes that it’s also ideal for streamlined looks. “The effortless tone feels luxurious and works well with a glossy or matte finish,” she says.

Toasted Neutrals
Nudes are a staple year round but this spring the experts say toasty shades like almond and oat will reign supreme. “A creamy almond has a fresh quality that complements the season and is versatile enough to pair with brighter spring tones,” says CEO of Nailing Hollywood Mazz Hanna. Manicurist and DND nail artist Lauren Ortega adds that opting for a nude-adjacent hue also strikes the balance between the opaque and sheerer shades that have been trending lately.

Greyish Blues
Grey is undeniably chic, and this season, it’s taking on new shades to prove it. “A muted blue with grey undertones offers a new take on spring pastels and is also ideal for gradient ombré manicures and designs,” says Gerstein. However, if you’d like to stick to a more traditional version, Hanna says dove grey is the perfect shade for transitioning from your winter shade to spring.
Two to try: Essie Behind The Glass ($13) and Olive & June Cloudy Skies ($9)

Matcha
Matcha nails are inspired by soft and earthy natural tones that come alive during the spring. However, as founder of Nails Inc. Thea Green explains, the popularity of this look isn’t a coincidence. With food-inspired trends rising and subtle, yet distinct shades taking center stage, matcha is poised for success come spring.
Two to try: Sally Hansen Cool as a Cucumber ($8) and Manucurist Mint ($14)

Cherry Red
“A rich red makes a bold statement when you want your nails to pop,” says Gerstein. But beyond the appeal of a simple manicure, she notes that a cherry-colored polish is the perfect backdrop for creating a maximalist look with rhinestones and nail art.
Two to try: Mineral Fusion Head Over Heels($10) and Le Mini Macaron Cherry Red ($10)

Pink Jelly
According to Green, jelly finishes will be a top trend for spring. “The unique translucent appearance is playful and fresh, just like the season, and they’re perfect for layering,” she says. To fully embrace the look, try opting for a pink or fuchsia hue that’s classy and whimsical.
Two to try: Lights Lacquer Just a Tint ($13) and Cirque Colors Bitten Jelly ($13)

Caramel
If you’re looking for a creamy shade that’s decadent and elegant, you won’t be disappointed with a caramel hue. As the ultimate neutral color, Gerstein notes that it has an understated glam that pairs with everything, and especially well with warm tones and delicate gold details.
Two to try:Nails Inc. Maldives Beach ($9) and Londontown Lakur Bee’s Knees ($16)

Mauve
“Mauve is perfect for early spring because it bridges the gap between winter’s deeper tones and spring’s softer palette. Its warmth adds a touch of elegance to any spring look,” says Hanna.
Two to try: Gelcare Anemone Pink ($24) and Orly The Snuggle Is Real ($11)
