Ombre Powder Brows Before & After: Complete Guide (1)

Not only can you achieve beautifully realistic brows after the procedure, but it can also last you a good couple of years before needing a touch-up. Check out some of the best powder brows before and after examples below to get a better idea as to what you are in for, and draw inspiration from the many carefully crafted brows achieved through this method.

Ombre Powder Brows Before and After Care Process

There are a few precautions to take before and after the procedure. These are to lessen the risk of side effects, hasten the healing, and help your brows last longer.

Care process before the procedure:

  • Do not drink caffeine and alcohol at least 48 hours prior
  • Do not take any blood thinners at least 1 week before (With doctor’s approval)
  • Do not book your treatment during your menstrual cycle
  • Do not wax, tan, or tint the brow area at least 3 days prior
  • Do not undergo anti-aging treatments, chemical peels, or facials at least 2 weeks prior
  • Do not undergo facial injections at least 1 month prior

Care process after procedure:

There are different types of aftercare and your chosen artist should thoroughly explain the best one for your situation. In general, aftercare is most crucial in the first 10 to 14 days, no matter the method. During this time, it is important not to touch or sweat on the area, have too much water and sun exposure, and also to temporarily stop your usual makeup routine.

Ombre Brows and Powder Brows: What’s the Difference?

There is no difference between ombre brows, powder brows, or even ombre powder brows. These are one in the same procedure and can be interchanged when referring to this semi-permanent makeup treatment.

Ombre means “shaded” in French and pertains to the blending of one color hue with another. This is exactly the kind of result you can expect of powder brows, as the method also gets its name from the powdery effect given by the “shading” or blending technique.

What Does The Treatment Involve?

Ombre Powder Brows Before & After: Complete Guide (3)

The treatment is divided into two main stages, which are:

Stage 1: Inserting of pigment, which will take about 2 hours on average.

Stage 2: Initial touch-up around 6 to 8 weeks after insertion of pigment.

During the first stage, you will undergo about 6 steps. These are:

Step 1: Consultation with a professional artist

Step 2: Cleansing of the brow area

Step 3: Numbing of the brow area using a topical cream

Step 4: Choosing the hue of your pigment

Step 5: Measuring and brow mapping of your arch and tail

Step 6: Needling in the pigment

Do Ombre Powder Brows Hurt?

The ombre powder brows treatment is already less painful than other methods, but a numbing cream is also applied to ensure no pain or discomfort is felt during the session.

What Is It Like To Get Powder Brows?

One session of powder brows takes a total of 2 hours on average. During this time, you should not expect to feel any pain in the area, and only minor pressure as the needles apply the pigment under the skin.

What Is The Healing Process Like?

We’re not going to lie, the first two weeks of the healing process may be tedious for most. However, it is absolutely crucial that you take extra care during this period.

You can expect minor swelling, redness, and scabbing, but all of these are completely normal and should gradually lessen on the 4th day onwards. Your brows will also be 50% darker than its actual hue, with the real color showing in about a month.

In total, the healing process will take about 4 to 6 weeks, but only the first two weeks need extra dedication.

Who Is A Good Candidate For Ombre Brows?

A good candidate for ombre powder brows are individuals who have thinning brows and are looking for an alternative todrawing in brows every morning. This treatment is great for all skin tones and skin types, even those with oily skin.

It is important to note that those getting the procedure should have a relatively healthy medical record. These individuals also should not be taking any thyroid medication, steroids, or blood thinners. Moreover, a good candidate is someone who is not currently pregnant or lactating and who does not have diabetes, healing disorders, allergies to pigments, or other medical concerns. When in doubt, it is best to ask your professional artist and medical doctors before undergoing treatment.

Can Microblading Be Combined With The Ombre Effect?

Ombre Powder Brows Before & After: Complete Guide (5)

Yes, microbladed brows can most certainly be combined with powder brows! This method is known as Combo Brows and is another popular semi-permanent tattoo treatment that has many users leaving their sessions satisfied, filled with joy, and armed with a pair of perfect brows.

This effect starts with microblading hair-like strokes on the head of your brow down to the middle. It then blends into the shadow technique of powder brows from the middle until the tail. Combo brows give all the same benefits as the two procedures, and you can expect to have full, bold, fluffy, soft, and natural brows by the end of the session.

Can I Wear Makeup After Ombre Brows Treatment?

Part of the aftercare routine is to refrain from putting on makeup on your brow area or the spaces near it for at least two weeks. After which, you can slowly start to wear makeup so long as you are being gentle with the application and removal each day.

Note that the more you touch the area before it completely heals (about 4-6 weeks), the higher the chances of your ombre brows fading faster.

How Do I Choose The Right Artist for Ombre Powder Brows?

Ombre Powder Brows Before & After: Complete Guide (6)

Just like any cosmetic procedure, it is important to do thorough research before committing to an artist.

Initially, you can read reviews online, check out any of their published works, check other kinds of information you want to know, and ask around if any of your friends or family know of them.

The next step is to book a consultation appointment with the artist. In this appointment, be sure to ask all the questions and evaluate if you are comfortable with their response. Also ask to see examples of their previous work, especially ones that have been fully healed in order to get a better idea as to how the end results turn out.

What Should I Know Before The Treatment?

You should know that undergoing ombre powder brows is not a kind of treatment you should decide on a whim. It takes some preparation before going to your session, and more work after it is done.

Perhaps one of the most important things to note before getting ombre brows is that choosing your artist is a crucial step. You should do a lot of research and actually speak with the artist yourself in order to decide if they are the right one for you. Remember that these brows could last you 1 to 3 years, so it is best to do your homework!

On Average, How Much Do Ombre Powder Brows Cost?

On average, ombre powder brows would cost between $500 to $800 dollars, with a lot of clinics charging about $600 per session. However, depending on your chosen artist, this can go up to $1000 or more. Some artists include the necessary initial touch-up with this price, while others may charge an additional fee. Many factors can affect the rate including the location of the salon/clinic, quality of tools, years of experience, and more.

What Should I Know About Ombre Powder Brows Aftercare?

You may experience the peak of side effects during the first four days post-treatment. This starts to subside until the 14th day. Ease up your aftercare but continue to be cautious, and take care of your brows until they are completely healed. After an average of 4 to 6 weeks, you can go back to your usual routine.

Totally realistic looking brows - it's like my brows have returned

I've had microblading done twice, I've tried ALL the brow pencils, gels, and even the Amazon temp brow tattoos - these are FAR superior to all of that. They last on my oily skin for 2 full days (morning on one day, morning two days later to replace), take 30 seconds to replace and they look SO realistic! I always had fabulous brows that I really never appreciated until I lost them. They're back!

My Two Brows are Wonderful!

I saw another woman with Alopecia with beautiful brows and commented on them. She told me they were temporary tattoos by “My Two Brows”, and said I would love working with Jason. I am so thankful I ran across this woman! She changed my life! I now have beautiful, realistic looking brows 24/7. They are easy to apply and last up to a week, getting them wet, sleeping with them, swimming, sweating, life! I love waking up in the morning and having brows again! Jason is a real pleasure to work with getting just the right style and color for you. I LOVE “My Two Brows”! And Highly Recommend them! Try them, you’ll be happy you did!

Most natural looking eyebrows!

I cannot rave enough about my new eyebrows. After having looked at different products on the market, what drew me to "My Two Brows" is that you can customize your eyebrows so that they're tailored to you, how realistic they look and how well they stand up to sweat and water. When I tell people that my eyebrows are tattoos, they can't believe it! Im wearing the sassy curve in light brown, they last anywhere from 2-5 days.
Moreover, the ordering process is very easy and the customer service excellent. i highly recommend them.

So realistic

I permanently lost my hair and eyebrows from an issue with a breast cancer chemo drug. Unfortunately there is a fairly large segment of women that this has happened to. I am so happy to have found my two brows as I love the realistic look of them. I am still trying to get the positioning right, as well as the size, shape and color, but I'll get there. I find that if I cut the paper close to the brow itself, I can figure out the placement a little easier. The ones in the picture are medium, sassy swerve in medium brown. The color is a little off from the medium brown I ordered before, but Jason said he will make sure the dye lot is right with my next order. I find that I can wear the brows for up to a week if I am very careful in the shower and don't rub them while washing or drying my face.

I wish I’d found these sooner!

I only have one regret about my two brows - I wish I’d found them sooner! I’m still not sure where my own eyebrows went or why, but these actually look better than mine ever did. The colour and size selection means I can find the perfect shape and shade and even change them if I’m tanned or dye my hair. Big shout out to Jason for being so helpful and for the personalised touches with packaging and delivery.

I was so Skeptical

I couldn’t have been more of a skeptic going into this thinking I’ve used brow pencil for years there is no way these will look actually any better intact I thought they would look worse. When I first received the sample pack I still thought seeing them no they won’t work and was so scared to shave of the tiny tiny bit of blonde eyebrow hair (keep in mind I have dark brown almost black hair) that did grow back after chemotherapy but finally I worked up the courage to try and was completely blown away after I got the first pair on and my eye brows have NEVER LOOK MORE REAL AND BETTER!!!I couldn’t go back to pencil now and I’ve only had them on for 4 days!
